Bakwena Lodge
Bakwena means people of the crocodile in Setswana language, and it is one of the largest tribes in Botswana. The owners of Chobe’s Bakwena lodge, both Bakwena, designed this lodge in traditional style of rondavels, using a pole structure filled in with sandbags.
There are ten River View Chalets, nestled in an indigenous riverine forest and overlooking the magnificent Chobe River. Here you can wake up to the sound of fish eagles and fall asleep to the comforting grunt of a hippo.
The five Treetop Chalets are elevated on stilts three metres above the ground and wrapped in a tree canopy. Lose yourself in a secret world of incandescent light and leaves, remembering why a tree house was a childhood dream.
The central area offers meals with a lovely view or seating along the environmentally friendly swimming pool.
