Horse Safaris

Nothing better than exploring the scenery and viewing the wildlife from the back of a horse!

Guests should have some riding experience and feel competent at ALL paces and confident of keeping up with the pace of the group. Fitness is required as 7 hours per day may easily be spent in the saddle.

Children must be 12 years and older to partecipate to Set Date Departures itineraries (8 guests minimum). Children of any age who are confident and competent riders are accepted on Private Riding Safaris.

Getting there

There are charter flights from Maun to the airstrip at the camps, from where it will be a 5-minute game drive to Camp Kalahari or one of the other camps.

Driving is also possible: an escort is obligatory, which you'll meet at Planet Baobab near Gweta. He will join you in your car for the 2-hour slow drive to the camp.

Rates are based on a 5-night itinerary with the first two nights and the 5th night at Camp Kalahari and the two nights in between at Xau Xai Dome tented camp. In the dry season the 4th night will be spent fly-camping under the stars (weather permitting).
